About the project BrinE-loop is funded under the Horizon Europe EIC Pathfinder Challenges programme and aims to develop a disruptive, integrated electrochemical process that combines desalination-brine valorization with recovery and recycling of critical materials. Instead of treating concentrated desalination brines as waste, the project aims to convert them into valuable products and process streams while integrating lithium recovery from LFP battery waste. The integrated process targets recovery or production of lithium carbonate, magnesium chloride, calcium carbonate and deionized water, while internally generating and recycling important chemical streams. NTNU leads WP1, Electrified Mono/Di-valent Stream Separation, which develops a membrane-based electrodialysis process for separating monovalent ions from divalent ions. The Postdoctoral Fellow will have a central role in NTNU's activities, particularly in the design, fabrication, functionalization, characterization and performance evaluation of monovalent-selective ion-exchange membranes. The developed membranes will subsequently be incorporated into electrodialysis modules and ultimately into the integrated BrinE-loop process. We have a two-year position for a researcher in computational high-content imaging analysis as part of the international EP PerMed project ERKetype.ERKetype aims to develop digital twins as complex biomarkers for precision cancer medicine, with a particular focus on cancers driven by dysregulation of the RAS/RAF/MEK/ERK signalling pathway. The project combines patient-derived cancer models, Cell Painting and other high-content imaging approaches, pharmaco-proteomics, multi-omics data, artificial intelligence and mechanism-based modelling to understand why cancer cells respond — or fail to respond — to targeted therapies.The researcher will be part of FlobakLab at NTNU (www.flobaklab.com), an interdisciplinary precision oncology group with expertise in both wet- and dry-lab research. In this position, you will play a central role in analysing Cell Painting and high-content imaging data from drug screens in cancer cell lines, patient-derived cancer organoids and patient-derived tumouroids. You will work closely with SINTEF Industry and its robotic high-throughput drug-screening facilities. The maritime industry is adopting AI technologies. The next decade will bring extensive digitization of operational data in yards, creating opportunities for more data-driven planning. AI can replace or supplement traditional planning approaches, which struggles to manage the uncertainty and variability that are inherent in complex engineer-to-order shipbuilding. Realizing the full potential of AI is both a technical and an integrative challenge. It requires combining what AI excels at, such as pattern recognition and processing data streams, with theories and methods for planning and logistics. The PhD research will focus on AI-enhanced planning of operations in shipbuilding supply chains, examining how AI techniques can support decision-makers in analyzing real-time and historical data to better coordinate operators, equipment, and facilities, as well as manage operations across multiple projects and supply chain partners. A key part of this research is to investigate how AI can be integrated into planning methods and systems in supply chains, particularly how AI can anticipate disruptions, analyse trade-offs in tactical sourcing decisions, and contribute to improved supply chain performance.
